The Heritage Garden
July 13th-15th
July arrived with plenty of heat, but also clear skies and some beautiful light. I spent most of the morning stepping back and looking at the garden as a whole, focusing on wider compositions that capture just how full and vibrant everything has become. I'm especially happy with how these photographs turned out—they feel like an honest snapshot of the garden in midsummer. The accompanying video includes some of that footage, but it's really about something I learned while filming: the surprising story of the boll weevil. It's a small reminder that the more time you spend paying attention, the more there is to discover.
